The Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary

Founded in 1967, the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, one of Canada’s seven top research universities, has earned an international reputation for developing energy industry leaders in Canada and around the world. In 2002, the School was named in honor of Richard F. Haskayne, OC, FCA, and former Chairman of TransCanada Corporation (1998–2005). Haskayne currently serves over 3,600 bachelor’s, master’s, PhD and executive program participants every year.

The Haskayne School of Business has offered world-class programming for three decades. Since 1984, the School has been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. In 2009, the Financial Times ranked its general management Alberta/Haskayne Executive MBA 36th, the highest of any business school located in any energy-producing center around the world. The School is also ranked 16th in the world by Beyond Grey Pinstripes (2008) and second among all Canadian institutions by Corporate Knights (2010), in acknowledgement of its expertise in sustainability and alternative energy management practices.

In addition to regular degree programs, Haskayne offers executive education programs specifically designed for energy industry participants. Global companies such as BP International, China National Petroleum Corporation, Enbridge, Fluor and Shell have partnered with Haskayne to create customized energy management programs for their leaders. The School has also offered specialty degree and non-degree energy programs in China, Ecuador, Iran, Peru and Russia. The Haskayne School of Business is a global leader in energy management and sustainable development education with over 18,000 alumni living in over 60 countries.
